This is the second edition of Drift, an eight-month journey which began with a question: What do you think about when you cant sleep at night My eleventh grade students wrote their thoughts on slips of paper then gave them to me. Curiously, these were also questions, the same which make up the chapters in this book. We decided to try and answer them indirectly through poems, stories or short narratives using other famous works as inspiration. Each week we took on a few. The students wrote, revised, edited and formatted this book. Trembling Starlight consists of the answers by my first period class and Absolute Magnitude by the second. Maybe they arent answers, but the questions live behind all this work.
